Tourism is the most important branch, followed by sugar and rum production. Other economy branches are light industries and capital investment next to farming and fishing.
Tins get produced on the island, beverages (Barbados Bottling Company, Bank's Breweries), cigarettes, cotton industry is growing. In St.Lucy there is a cement factory (Arawak Cement).
